T & D ( Updated 22nd October )

The matches are due to be played on the week commencing 26th October. Please see the attachments for full details.

Update 22nd October :
There was an error in the Division 4 listing that was recently published. One player in the New Milton F (Ian Linney) had been duplicated and a newly registered player (Steve Cheeseman), also of the same team had not been included in the handicap list. The attached list Rev1 now corrects this issue – all other handicaps remain unchanged.

See new attachments.

Saturday Coaching

Saturday Coaching will recommence this coming Saturday, the 17th October as we now have a number of younger coaches/players keen to take up the reins. We have also had a number of inquiries about coaching and we are aware that some of our young league players are interested in further development.
We know that many youngsters have other sporting engagements on Saturday mornings so we intend to run two sessions initially.

Three junior Bournemouth Sports players, Jacob Blackburn, Ali Malloch and Matt Stanfield have received a free sponsorship deal from Bribar for one year, courtesy of Stephen Foster. Stephen is an agent for Bribar and in his capacity as British League administrator had also arranged for Bribar to sponsor our teams, both Junior and Senior. The players received free Joola bats and rubbers of their choice and shirts, shorts and tracksuits suitably printed up. Ali and Matt received equipment under a player deal for performances this season and Jacob for his interest and commitment to coaching.

End of Season Review

This last season has seen a number of changes in the structure and direction of English table tennis which have impacted on our club and as a result necessitated some changes in our own policies and development planning. The NGB has no funding for High Performance (and probably will not have until at the earliest 2017) and will be sending players abroad to compete even in major events only if they have a chance of reaching say the quarters or are able to self-fund.

Chloe Triple Champion in Nationals

Bournemouth Sports Table Tennis Club

The Welsh National Championships were played in Cardiff on the 6th and 7th June (in every other European Country the Nationals take place annually at the end of February/beginning of March). However the delay in staging the event meant good preparation for Chloe Thomas. Her pre-university college course was almost over, Swedish League matches completed and she had a top flight personal coach present in the form of Hannah Hicks!
