Chloe Stars in Sweden

Bournemouth Sports Table Tennis Club

This week Chloe Thomas has played in Sweden in the Women's Elite playoffs where the top eight elite teams in the country play to find the National Champions who will represent Sweden in Europe. The matches are played on a home and away basis with a third leg being played if necessary and most teams have foreign international players or top Chinese. Chloe plays for the National Centre in Koping and the first match was away against Halmstad, a team with some of the best young stars in Sweden and a top player Jha Prachi from the USA, who was a World Junior Bronze Medalist and North American Championships Winner in Juniors and Womens in 2015.
In the first leg away Chloe and all her team-mates lost to Prachi but their team won 5 -- 4. However the home match was much more dramatic. Chloe's team went down 1 -- 4 with Chloe to play the 6th and 8th match. She won the 6th comfortably and went on against Prachi with her team in a position of 3 -- 4 down. She duly won in 4, the last game 11 -- 6 to put the teams on level terms and from there Koping went on to win 5 -- 4. Chloe's matches were described on the Swedish website as being absolutely key to the victory.
