Chloe gives masterclass at BUCs finals

Bournemouth Sports Table Tennis Club

Welsh triple champion, Chloe Thomas gave a masterly display at the British University Individual Championships held at Nottingham University on the 20th to 21st February. What was breathtaking was not the fact that she won the Women's Singles, but the manner in which she won the event. Bear in mind that not only was she competing against many international players from universities all over UK but against top players from Nottingham which is regarded as the premier university in the UK for table tennis. Nottingham was actually 5th in the European University Championships in 2015 and their players have the advantage of 15 hours per week with England's top coaches and sparrers.

Bournemouth however must be doing something right in terms of women's coaching and development as Chloe totally dominated the final stages of the singles event. She beat fellow Welsh International, Angharad Philips 3 -- 0 in the quarters, top Nottingham player, Yolanda King 3 -- 1 in the semis and England Senior International, Maria Tsaptsinos 3 -- 1 in the final. Chloe will now jet off at the end of the week to represent Wales in the World Championships in Malaysia.
